Internship agreements

All internships must be the subject of an agreement between the university, the host organization and the intern. The internship agreement states, among other things, the conditions of the internship, the commitments of each of the parties.

Documents to be provided to ED 509:

  • The internship agreement (French version) completed and signed by the host organization in triplicate.
  • A Civil Liability insurance certificate indicating that you are insured within the scope of an internship.
  • For internships abroad: the repatriation certificate (to be requested from your insurance company).
  • For internships abroad: the individual accident insurance certificate (to be requested from your insurance company).
  • For internships abroad: in order for a request for maintaining your social protection to be requested from the Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie (CPAM, French Social Insurance Administration), provide ED 509 with a copy of your internship agreement and your social security certificate.

WARNING: Under no circumstances should you start your internship before the agreement has been accepted and signed by all parties.

You wish to do an internship abroad?

We strongly advise you to check with the embassy of the destination country regarding the process to obtain a possible visa and the various procedures to be carried out before your departure.

You will need to consult the classification of the zone where you plan to do your internship on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/conseils-aux-voyageurs/.

The University will not approve internship agreements for areas qualified as “orange” or “red”.

If your zone switches to “red” during your stay, you are required to end the internship immediately.

Below is the color code used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Green: Normal caution

Yellow: Increased caution

French students traveling abroad for a study trip or for an internship in a company or in a laboratory must register on the Ariane portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to declare their mobility.

This portal allows for you to be registered and contacted, should a rescue be mounted, or in the event of a crisis or a natural disaster abroad.

Registration to the French Consulate

If you stay for more than six months in a foreign country, including the time spent before and after the internship, you will have to register in the Registre des Français établis hors de France with the French consular authorities.

By registering you, the consular services will be able to forward information to you (electoral deadlines, security, events) and contact your relatives in case of emergency.
